How to check the temperature of your cat

The internal temperature of a healthy adult cat ranges from 38 to 39 ° C and can be accurately measured with a thermometer inserted into the rectum of the animal.
After lubricating the thermometer with a drop of oil, lift the cat’s tail and insert it into the anus where you leave it for a few minutes. To accomplish this, avoid sudden movements as they could break the thermometer and thus injure the animal.
If the temperature exceeds 40 ° C or is below 37.5, you have to worry. In the case of a drop in temperature, it is essential to quickly go to the veterinarian because the causes that can cause it are usually serious.
